Laminate Flooring
The unique ability of laminate flooring to simulate the look of other flooring products, while delivering the added values of wear, stain, fade, and moisture resistence, along with lower cost for preparation, material and installation, have made this product category the most rapidly growing segment of the flooring industry.

Popularity
One of the great things about laminate flooring is tht you can install it over virtually any existing floors like wood, tile, concrete, vinyl sheet flooring, etc. That means you dont't have to pull up the old floors and deal with the mess or the hassle of repairing most sub floor damage. Just make sure your sub floor is structurally sound, dry, clean and flat.

Construction
Featuring a backing layer for stability, a high-density fiberboard core, a printed design layer to resemble wood or stone, and a clear, tough top wear layer (often with aluminum oxide) for protection against scratches, stains, and fading, offering an affordable, resilient alternative to natural materials.

Things to Consider
Unlike hardwood, laminate can't be sanded or refinished; scratches and wear will required plank replacement.
Excess water can cause swelling, buckling, and peeling making it not ideal for basements , Kitchens or Full bathrooms where water spills or moisture could be an issue.
